| Abstract: | Since the early 1990s, China-GCC trade and economic relations have kept improving. Especially in 2004 when the two sides signed economic and trade cooperation agreement and started the FTA negotiations, the bilateral partnership became one of the highlights among the whole Sino-Arab cooperation. But in view of the special geopolitical and energy status of the Gulf area as well as the context of the current international system transformation and the Middle East development decade, China-GCC trade and economic relations are deeply influenced by the multiple external factors. China needs to ensure its national interests abroad and energy security from a strategic perspective while dealing its relations with GCC countries. |
